The last two weeks was indeed a super stylish week in town, as we witnessed it with our own eyes in Indonesia Fashion Week 2013. Our editorial team got invited to several fashion shows on that four days fashion event settled in Jakarta Convention Center. The excitement for the event was an awe-inspiring, as well as the collections shown by noted Indonesian fashion designers since the day one.
Starting our first runway report, we could not think for anything better than the 'spring fairies' theme that consorted by designer Nevi Kusuma in her Spring Blossom Fairytale collection. A lot of both flowy and tutu-shape tulle skirts in layers and efflorescence colours really did scream out the whispers of spring fairies in a blossomy flower field. It's an extravagant way to balance out the incitement between subtle and bold at the same time through the pastel color choice and bloated layers of tulle as the waist covers. To choose one as the most favorited piece was rather hard, but it is the heather grey amplified dress with its lofty bell-shape tulle and wrinkles accent on the sleeves over the low v-neck lace on the torso that captured the attentions quite a lot. As a personal second best, we would go for the periwinkle mermaid dress in a body fitted see-through lace torso, which we think, would be a major color trend for this Spring/Summer 2013!
Other trend we can adopt from Nevi's Spring 13 collection, is the floral wreaths. Are they still in trend this Spring? We do think so, if it is the spiked and bold carnations of leaves and strong color flowers. Nevertheless, florals on your outfit for spring is a forever must.
